Doctor Robert Butler, founding director of the National Institute on Aging, once said “If exercise could be packaged in a pill, it would be the single most widely prescribed and beneficial medicine in the nation.” Since then, an enormous number of researches proved the benefits of exercise on general health but more importantly its positive effect in disease prevention and management. cems, identify and understand medical terminologies used by medical doctors to describe diagnostic criteria and treatment options used for each and every disease, know the correct way to report back to your client’s medical doctor in charge, become aware of the nutritional considerations and learn the exercise recommendations and guidelines that are relevant to each medical condition in order to help managing these medical conditions to improve clients quality of life. Medical problems discussed in this course are: Coronary Heart Disease, Blood Lipid Disorders, Hypertension, Pulmonary Disease: Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Overweight and Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, and Diabetes Mellitus.

Course Requirements

Upon successful completion of the theoretical exam, learners will receive:

  • Special Population certification from Inspire Fitness Academy approved by IFA for 24 CECs

Upon successful completion of both advanced courses:  Special Population in addition to Sports Injuries and Post-Rehab, you will receive:

  •         Exercise for Health Specialist certification from Inspire Academy approved by ACSM (CEC approved provider)

  •         Exercise for Health Specialist certification from EREPS (optional) – Learner must have a valid Personal Trainer certification equivalent to Europe-Active level 4

  •         Listing of your name on the EREPS website (optional) – Learner must have a valid Personal Trainer certification equivalent to Europe-Active level 4

Later-on you can purchase the ACE Medical Exercise Specialist exam to receive:

  •         Medical Exercise Specialist certification from ACE – American Council on Exercise (upon successful completion of the exam)

  •         Listing of your name on USREPS website (upon successful completion of the exam)
